About Shakira
Who My Lessons Are For Ages: 6 to 11 years old (Year 1 to Year 6) Level: Beginners to intermediate Ideal for children who are new to coding, need extra support, or want to extend their computing skills beyond school. Qualifications & Experience I am a qualified Computing teacher with extensive experience in teaching primary school students. I have successfully taught topics such as: Block-based programming (Scratch, (concealed information)) Game and animation design Robotics (e.g., Sphero, Lego) AI basics for children I’ve taught in both school and online environments, and I’m passionate about making technology education engaging and accessible for all learners.

Teaching Techniques & Methodology
My tutoring style is interactive, student-centered, and hands-on. I use visual-based programming tools like Scratch, (concealed information), and Blockly to introduce core programming concepts in a fun and easy-to-understand way. I design each session to include:
Step-by-step guided instruction
Practical coding tasks and mini projects
Games, challenges, and puzzles to boost logic and creativity
Regular feedback and encouragement to build confidence
I focus on making coding feel like a game while secretly building problem-solving, critical thinking, and computational skills.
Typical Lesson Length
Each lesson runs for 45 to 60 minutes, depending on the student’s age and attention span. Lessons are structured to include:
A warm-up activity or review
Introduction of a new concept
Hands-on practice or a small coding project
