About Layla
I've had a passion for music since a very young age and always knew that it was something I wanted to pursue. I play several instruments (guitar, piano, violin, saxophone, drums, vocals and bass!).I began teaching friends when I was at school, and realised how much I enjoyed being able to pass on this amazing gift.
It is incredible watching students grow and progress, and I really believe that music can give us an outlet in today's busy and sometimes stressful world...we use music to celebrate, to mourn, to have fun and to relax! I believe it also inspires confidence in students when they learn a new skill or piece.
I was classically trained on the piano and violin from ages 5 and 9, and have studied extensively. I've played in bands and toured all over the UK, and even worked in the music industry in Los Angeles for a couple of years! :)
I take a very friendly and gentle approach, and can teach anything from music theory, to exam preparation, composition, performance skills and everything in between :)

I've been a full-time musician for the last 15 years and have toured all over the UK performing. I've been teaching for 20 years and tailor all of my lessons to the individual needs of the student. Lessons are typically 30 minutes long, but one hour lessons are available, and can be done from my own home or via Zoom.
I cater for all ages and abilities, and all forms of music genre.
