About Hector
I'm a music composition college student at Cerritos. I played saxophone throughout grade school in school bands and have been playing bass and guitar for 6 years. I've been in 3 local rock bands as both a bassist and guitarist and have jammed with many Long Beach scene band members.

I combine traditional music theory with self-taught simplifications. Many times teachers from the more theoretical side approach music very mathematically and miss out on the emotional expression that music's supposed to provide. Music doesn't have to be a math equation. I take what's needed from theory and combine it with what I find to be much more natural and logical for future and current band members. Have a song you'd like to learn the part to? I'll learn it with you and show you how to dissect the part by ear so that you can do the same on your own. Wondering how to add to a song your friend made? I'll run you through how to fit in with the other instruments to complement it. Want to write your own songs? I'll show you the basics of how to piece together chords and notes that work together. Let's get busy.
