About Amos
I am a future trainee at a Magic Circle law firm with three years of teaching experience in both one-to-one and classroom settings. Currently, I am offering tuition for the law conversion course and support with the application process for becoming a commercial solicitor. I was offered vacation schemes at two Magic Circle and one Silver Circle law firm, and had a 75% success rate converting vacation scheme applications to interviews.
Outside of law, I work as a professional violinist, having played at events attended by A-list celebrities. I have taken a year out between the Law Conversion Course and SQE preparation course to study violin performance at postgraduate level.

Qualifications/experience:

- Finalist in the Aspiring Solicitors Commercial Awareness Competition (top 25 of over 3,000 entrants)
- Offered places on competitive insight schemes at three Magic Circle law firms and one Silver Circle law firm.
- Campus ambassador for a Magic Circle firm, elite US firm, and leading international law firm.
- Law conversion course grade average of 80.3% (only received results for half of my modules so far because I finished the course very recently).
- Three years of teaching experience in both one-to-one and classroom settings.
Law Conversion Course tuition:
- I teach legal concepts using a sensible step-by-step approach, ensuring your knowledge and understanding is sufficient to achieve top grades.
- The analytical style required to achieve excellent marks on the law conversion course differs significantly from that expected in most undergraduate degrees. I teach the methods examiners reward most highly.
- Structure is a key factor distinguishing high distinction responses on the law conversion course. I teach exam technique for problem questions and essays, ensuring your writing follows the best structure for each question type under time pressure.
- I teach techniques for approaching multiple choice questions in which several answers appear correct, but only one is the best answer.
Training contract, vacation scheme, insight scheme, campus ambassador, and solicitor apprenticeship applications and interviews:
- Starting preparation early is extremely helpful, but not essential, to receiving a training contract or solicitor apprenticeship. I provide mentoring on how to gain the experience that makes your profile stand out to recruiters at leading law firms.
- The ideal time to reach out to me would be at the end of year 13 for the training contract route and at the end of year 11 for the solicitor apprenticeship route. However, many students receive training contracts and solicitor apprenticeships with a much shorter period of preparation and I am happy to work with students who did not decide to become solicitors until a later stage.
- I teach techniques for writing applications that recruiters at elite law firms progress to the next stage and also offer detailed application reviews.
- I teach the legal, business, and financial knowledge that significantly boosts applicants’ chances at interview stage.
- I teach how to make commercial awareness one of your strengths rather than something you are scared of.
- I teach proven methods of answering common and unexpected interview questions, as well as how to approach commercial case study and article interviews.
- I teach how to convert first year schemes and vacation schemes into training contracts.
Recommended lesson length: 2 hours (I am also happy to teach shorter lessons of 1 hour and 1.5 hours)
