About Marina

I greatly enjoyed biology at GCSE, however chemistry was more challenging for me at first. I eventually realised that both of these subjects were based around many of the same core concepts and strategies which made my exam preparation much easier. With aspirations of becoming a dentist I chose biology and chemistry at A level and I am now predicted to get the grades I require to go to study dentistry at university. I was asked to mentor GCSE students at my school and give them weekly 1:1 sessions, from there many of them requested tutoring sessions outside of school.

English

In my GCSEs I got grade 8s and 9s in maths, further maths, and sciences. I am now at Sixth Form in year 13 studying Biology, Chemistry, and Economics with AAA predicted grades. I have experience in tutoring for GCSE biology (Edexcel) and chemistry (AQA). Before a lesson I usually pre-prepare the topic that needs to be covered (as directed by the student), I then ask them to explain concepts from the topic to identify areas of confusion. After explaining these ideas (often using visual diagrams) I will go over exam questions and key mark points. Finally, (if requested) I will set some questions for homework and ask if they have any questions or if there are any topics the student wishes to cover next week.
