About Constantine

I am a former Head of Maths with over 17 years of teaching and tutoring experience, specialising in GCSE, A Level and IB Mathematics.

Throughout my career, I have taught hundreds of students from around the world, helping them achieve some exceptional results. These include progressing from a Grade 4 in an IB mock examination to a final Grade 7, achieving Grade 9s at GCSE and A*s at A Level, and securing places at leading universities including Oxford, Cambridge and King’s College London.

I particularly specialise in helping ambitious students work towards the very highest grades, including Grade 9 at GCSE, A* at A Level and 7 at IB. However, students do not need to already be performing at this level. Some of my greatest successes have come from identifying exactly what is holding a student back and creating a clear strategy for significant improvement.

My professional background includes working as Head of Maths at an independent boarding school in Kent and as a Mathematics Teacher at an international school in Brazil. I hold a degree in Mathematics, a PGCE in Secondary Mathematics and a Master’s degree in Mathematics Education from UCL. I have also worked as an IB examiner, giving me a strong understanding of assessment, marking and what examiners are looking for from top performing candidates.

I also speak English, Greek, Portuguese and Spanish, which allows me to support students from a wide range of international backgrounds.

For the past several years, I have specialised in online education. I combine extensive teaching experience and subject knowledge with technology, educational research and AI to provide highly personalised tuition.

I am also the founder of Number One Tutor, an online tutoring agency providing academic support through experienced subject specialists.

For me, excellent tuition is not simply about explaining Mathematics. It is about understanding the individual student, identifying exactly where marks are being lost, and creating a clear path towards the result they are capable of achieving.

About the lesson

Every student I teach has a personalised plan.

I begin by understanding your current level, your goals and the areas that are preventing you from achieving them. From there, lessons are tailored around exactly what will have the greatest impact on your performance.

I combine my experience as a teacher and examiner with technology and AI to analyse performance, identify specific gaps against the syllabus and create individualised resources targeting the areas that need the most attention. This allows our time together to be focused and purposeful rather than simply working through a textbook from beginning to end.

For students aiming for the highest grades, we go beyond simply knowing the content. We develop the depth of understanding, mathematical reasoning and problem solving needed for the most demanding questions. We also focus extensively on exam technique, including how to interpret questions, structure solutions, avoid unnecessary loss of marks and perform effectively under timed conditions.

Lessons typically combine clear explanation, challenging questions, past paper practice and targeted exercises. Where appropriate, I also create personalised assessments and mock examinations based on the individual student's needs.

My lessons are highly interactive. Rather than simply watching me solve problems, students are constantly thinking, explaining their reasoning and making decisions. Mistakes become useful information that allows us to identify misconceptions and address them immediately.

Although I specialise in top grade preparation, you do not need to already be a top grade student. If your current result is below where you want it to be, we identify why and build a structured plan for improvement.

Whether your goal is a Grade 9 at GCSE, an A* at A Level, a 7 at IB, or simply a result that currently feels out of reach, my aim is for you to enter your examinations confident, thoroughly prepared and knowing exactly how to demonstrate what you can do.
