About Róisín
I'm a genetics researcher currently working at the Wellcome Sanger Institute and University of Cambridge. I completed my PhD in genetics at Newcastle University, and have been tutoring on and off since I graduated from my Bachelors at the University of Reading. I know firsthand how much difference good support can make; I had a tutor for a while at school and that experience really shaped how I approach teaching. I'm patient and understand that everyone learns differently and at their own pace. Whether you're struggling with a tricky topic or aiming for top grades, I'm here to help you get there. Biology can feel overwhelming, but breaking it down properly makes all the difference. Outside of science, I'm usually walking my dog or playing netball!

My Approach: I help students actually understand biology rather than just memorising facts. I break things down into clear steps, use real examples, and make sure there's plenty of time for questions. For exams, we work through past papers and I show you how to approach different question types. Lessons: Sessions are usually 60 minutes but I'm flexible. We'll recap what we covered last time, work through new material, do practice questions together, and I'll suggest what to look at before next time. I adapt to how you learn best.
