A LITTLE ABOUT ME
I am currently a student in the West Kootenay Teacher Education Program (WKTEP), an inspiring journey that is shaping me into an exceptional educator. With a strong emphasis on rural and small school settings, WKTEP recognizes the unique and exciting educational opportunities they offer. I am delighted to be part of a program that values place-conscious learning and maintains strong ties with local communities and school districts.
At WKTEP, I am gaining the skills and insights necessary to thrive as an educator in today's complex learning environments. The program's focus on community, collaboration, and innovation is preparing me to make a meaningful impact as a future teacher. Through immersive experiences and hands-on learning, I am developing the professional qualities and effective practices needed to succeed in my teaching career.
Being part of the West Kootenay Rural Teacher Education Program is not only shaping my teaching abilities but also fostering a deep connection with the communities I aim to serve. I am excited to continue this journey, growing as an educator while contributing to the educational landscape in innovative and impactful ways.

My personal pedagogy is that I teach from a place-based lense, I acknowledge my background and privilege as an educator, I incorporate Social Emotional Learning into my methodology, I design lessons with Inquiry and growth for the student in mind, and lastly, I focus on building community with my students because learning cannot occur if students do no feel welcome.
My typical lesson plan is arrange in the following order: Connect, Process, Transform, Reflect. Each of these areas ties to the big idea and curricular competency that is appropriate for the subject being taught.
