About Emmaline
Hi! My name is Emmaline and I love to read and write. I believe that understanding literature is not only a stepping stone to media literacy, but also to understanding ourselves. I am a student at Georgia State University and I have had my essay on the book "Fight Club" by Chuck Palahniuk accepted to the Pop Culture Association of the South academic conference. I want to give students the opportunity to take joy in both physical analysis as well as written analysis.

I empower students to use interconnectivity in different subjects (history, philosophy, science, etc.) to connect to literature in a more personalized manner. I encourage them to synthesize information that is appropriate for their level of academics. To start out, throughout all levels, I want students to find symbolism and specific wording choices that speak to them, and from there work to create an understanding of why these small things are important to them. From there, depending on the genre, I take a historical and philosophical approach to these significances.
I have been studying philosophy for the past 7 years, and have had my writing accepted to the Pop Culture Association of the South regional academic conference. Literature has always been a passion of mine, and something that I believe is a gift to understand. I believe understanding literature is key to navigating the world as we know it today. My services are available to those in middle school and above who have a difficult time navigating classical and modern literature, with an emphasis on difficulty communicating their understanding in written forms (essays, reviews, etc.).
