Hello! I am 29 years old and a musician born in Berlin who has been involved with classical guitar and singing since the age of six.
As a child and teenager, I learned the basics of classical guitar from Oliver-Fartach-Naini and, at the same time, I started learning electric guitar and writing my first songs. I also received vocal training for 6 years in the Berlin Cathedral Choir from the age of 7 and was able to gain a lot of acting experience.
During my youth I learned a lot about songwriting in bands and later also about music production with Ableton and Logic.
In 2013 I co-founded the experimental hip-hop duo "Ruhe & Bit" and as a producer I used my influences from classical guitar and pop music to develop my own sound. In 2019, after two EPs, we released our first LP on the Mainz label "Sichtexot" and arranged the tracks for a four piece live band with which we toured in Germany and Switzerland.
In 2015 I started taking guitar lessons with Laurie Randolph, a former teacher at the UdK (Conservatory of the Berlin School of Art) and Abel Carlevaro's assistant for many years. It was here that I made the decision to prepare for university. Since 2019 I study at UdK Berlin with a major in classical guitar and a minor in jazz singing.
Since that same year, I have also been working on solo pieces under the pseudonym "Ark White", which brings together influences from indie, jazz, classical guitar and folklore. Last year saw the release of my debut EP "Foldin' Love".

Classical guitar technique is taught, but it's also a good prerequisite for all other genres. Rather than using a specific school, the most important technical, theoretical and interpretive building blocks are crafted using pieces and improvisations that meet the students' interests. The focus, however, tends to be on the classical repertoire.
However, the aim of the lessons is always to learn how to create music in a way that makes you feel a personal connection to it and gives it emotional meaning. Feldenkrais skills and attention are also used and the emphasis is on learning effective practice techniques.
If you are interested, skills and techniques to compose your own pieces/chants can also be taught.
