About Joshua
I'm Josh, a lifelong academic with a passion for teaching. Though I currently work as software engineer, I majored in the humanties discipline at university and graduated with first class honours.
Though I am new to Superprof, I have been tutoring for several years and use my experience to tutor those still in education in: English Literature, History, Philosophy and essay writing.
If I'm not working, you'll likely find me at the beach enjoying a surf, or reading whatever book I am currently halfway through!

About the lesson

The lessons will be carefully tailored to support the needs of the client. Typically, I tutor people who are still in education. Therefore I usually ask what they are studying, and build a series of lessons around that particular topic.
For instance, if you were studying the Elizabethan English historical period, we would review the historical flash points, key chaarcters and events. Discuss some contempary, and modern sources, before doing some practice essays.
All of the lessons will be a blend of the specific subject, and a emphasis on essay writing and critiquing source material.
Lessons can be conducted at the clients home, or online.

Josh is a patient and dedicated teacher. I originally contacted Josh to help me with my English Literature exams a few years ago, rather than use his skills in computer science.
He really gave me a good understanding of the books I was studying at the time, and the knowledge in how to confidently pass the examinations.Josh is great. He's patient and fun, at the same time as being very knowledgeable. He is really interested in computer programming, which brings a great energy to the lessons.
Having worked with Josh a number of times on Software Development projects over the years I have always been impressed by his knowledge, insight and clear logical thinking.
