Ms Padmavathy Divakaran is an amazing piano teacher. She is a perfectionist to the core who also cares enough to notice my innate strengths and flaws as a student. She constantly motivates me to surpass the performance levels expected at my grade. Her classes are interactive sessions that allow me to ask questions, make mistakes and most importantly, learn from them. What I really love about her is that she keeps me on my toes and never lets me stay in my comfort zone.

As a former student of Miss Padmavathy, I really learnt to understand the emotions of every piece that I learnt with her. Even though I had very less interest in music at that age, her teaching skills and ability to motivate me made me admire her and pursue it as much as possible. For the three years that I got to study under her, she had been a very adaptable teacher in class. In the lessons, we not only worked on my MTB piano exam preparation but also learnt to play other music including pop songs and film songs (both by sheet music and by ear). Coming from a western classical background, I found her structured way of teaching improvisation super easy, helpful and fun! She has a knack for decoding popular music! Padmavathy is a very interactive teacher, ensured my little one was always engaged in the class. She goes the extra mile and makes sure that the class for the day is imbibed by the student.
