About Mahad
I am a GMC registered doctor, but I don't want to be all snobby and formal about it. I am pretty much just a few years ahead of you on the same journey.
I know how overwhelming medical school can be. There is a ridiculous amount of information to learn and sometimes even when you are actually pretty good at what you do, you can still feel completely lost or confused.
I am here to help you get through those difficult parts. I can explain complicated medical concepts in a way that actually makes sense, help you figure out where your understanding is breaking down and work through things with you until they start to click.
I am pretty relaxed and easy going, and you can ask me whatever you want without feeling stupid for not knowing something. I have been through medical school myself and I know there are plenty of times when you just need someone to explain something properly.
Whether you are a medical student or studying another health related programme, I am here to help you understand the material, get through the difficult parts and hopefully make studying medicine a little less painful.

My teaching style is relaxed, visual and student focused. I do not believe in simply talking at you for an hour while you try to absorb a mountain of information. Medical school already gives you plenty of that.
You can come to a lesson with a specific topic, lecture, question, exam you are preparing for, or simply something you do not understand. We will figure out where the problem is and work through it together.
I use a graphics tablet and OneNote to draw diagrams and explain concepts visually in real time. Sometimes a quick sketch is honestly easier to understand than ten minutes of talking. This is particularly useful for subjects such as anatomy, physiology and pathology.
I will ask questions throughout the lesson to identify gaps in your understanding, explain concepts step by step and, where useful, connect basic science to clinical medicine. I am also happy to work through questions and exam preparation.
I have been a medical student myself, so I know what it is like to feel completely lost in a subject that everyone else seems to understand. There is no such thing as a stupid question here.
