About Shannon
I am an Actor Musicianship student studying in Leeds Conservatoire with a diverse music background. I have achieved my Grade 8 in Piano and have a developed understanding of both music and music theory, and teach myself guitar on the side. I have had experience working in Young Leader Programmes and teaching in choirs as well as taking part in musical theatre programmes enabling me to teach with a greater understanding.

I like to approach my students by seeing where they stand musically and seeing what they know to begin with - this can range anywhere from beginner level to having a more in-depth understanding of music (wether it be the piano or in other areas). I tend to start with basic techniques to strengthen the foundations of their knowledge - such as learning scales, finger work and having a secure grasp on rhythm. With this, my students are then able to venture in to basic pieces and motifs, gradually working their way up with their understanding of the instrument and musical technicality. Most importantly I strive to make my lessons fun and entertaining, as my hope is to share my knowledge and love for music with other keen budding musicians who havent had the opportunity to do so!
