About Chrystyna
I am a friendly and bubbly individual who has been singing all my life and would love to share my passion and expertise with people. I have a warm mezzo range and can easily harmonise with melodies. As a soloist, I love singing German Lieder in particular, I think it is melancholy and dramatic. I enjoy singing Ukrainian folk songs (and my father's translation of them in English) as part of a duet, namely with my sister or father. Choral singing is also so magical, as a choir can create such a powerful collective sound. I look forward to learning Portuguese and Spanish language music and singing new styles, such as bossa nova (I also offer services tutoring Spanish, History and English on Superprof).

I am highly flexible and will teach each lesson according to the learners needs. I believe singing is all about enjoying yourself but also ensuring you take care of your voice and do not damage it. Therefore, each lesson will not only focus on how the student sounds whilst singing but also how it feels to make that sound. We can focus upon technique such as supporting sound using the diaphragm if the student wishes. Each lesson will start with a quick warm up, both physical stretching and stretching the voice. I am happy to teach people of all ages and those doing lower Singing grades, however my lessons would be more suited towards female singers as I am more familiar with how the female voice develops and matures.
My experience:
Ever since I can remember, I have been singing Ukrainian folk songs with my father and sister. My musical repertoire was widened by attending Barnet One Voice Choir as a teenager. Following this I had singing lessons and achieved a distinction in grade eight singing. Currently, I sing at local Church of England and Ukrainian mass services in addition to performing Ukrainian songs with my father. Some notable performances include a charity concert for Ukraine Charity, a performance for Ukraine Charity’s anniversary celebration at the Houses of Parliament and at the Royal Albert Hall with One Voice Choir, performing a choir solo piece. In terms of leading music, at my summer camp in 2018 I organised and lead a choral performance of girls singing a Ukrainian folk song.
A lesson would be an hour length as 30 minutes is too short and anything over an hour would be too long for the learner (unless the learner is a young child).
