About Cayleigh
I am a graduate in BSc Forensic Psychology, but I have also worked to attain a Masters in the field of Psychology!
I currently work in a school at the moment as a 1:1 tutor for children who have additional needs in the classroom. SEN students are more prone to underachieving due to mainstream schools not meeting their needs, so my approach to these students has to be altered based upon their varying personalities. This, however, makes me incredibly versatile in my teaching methods, and I believe there is an effective method out there for everyone!
My job gives me ample opportunity to experiment with different styles of teaching, and I believe that over time I have developed an incredibly effective delivery method, as well as a variety of techniques and resources that help most students simplify difficult topics!
I am incredibly passionate about my job. I love going above and beyond for the children I work with, because seeing them attain their full potential in subjects they struggle with fills me with nothing but pride.

I currently teach a variety of students at GCSE and A-Level. My students range between the ages of 13 to 18 years old, so I am very familiar with the current curriculums that exam boards adhere to!
I teach students 1:1 in the following subjects:
- Maths
- English Language
- English Literature
- Geography
- Psychology
- Health and Social BTEC
- Performing Arts BTEC
- Travel and Tourism BTEC
All subjects are taught to a GCSE level asides from English Literature and Psychology which I am comfortable teaching up to A-Level.
I intend for lessons to be between 45 and 60 minutes in order for tutees to be easily able to find time after school for sessions. Ideally, lessons would focus on areas within the subject that the student finds particularly difficult, as a new perspective might aid them in mastering the topic!
First lessons will be an introductory session where students can voice any concerns they have with the subject they wish to be tutored in, and I will construct a rota where we can tackle all of these topics together. Lessons following on from this will be structured, but will also be flexible enough to allow for necessary discussion / deeper investigation into particular topics if the student requires it.
I work primarily with SEN students, so my tutor method is broken down into step-by-step regiment, which has proven incredibly effective with the students I work with! I hope that this will be the case for you too!
