Graduate of Dickinson College and former employee of the DC Multilingual Writing Center. Flexible teaching approach and always happy to help!

While I was writing my honors undergraduate thesis, I had the great fortune to have Thea as my tutor. On a personal level, Thea is kind, personable, and patient. Before every session, she would set the tone and create goals for our time together, which guaranteed that we made clear and tangible progress each and every time. Together, we worked on a multitude of things: finding good resources, how to structure an argument, and how to refine general flow. Every time I was stuck in a rut, Thea helped me see the bigger picture and reconnect with my ideas in a new and creative way. I left every session with concrete ways to improve my writing, as well as renewed confidence in my work. After months of work, my thesis achieved departmental honors. Not only that, but my professors were so impressed that they recommended I submit the thesis to outside academic journals. Thea was supportive, kind, and helped my thesis achieve depth and rigor that I could not have achieved alone. For that I am very grateful. I would highly recommend her as a tutor.
