About Amrit
I was born and raised in Canada on an island off the coast of Vancouver, but am now based in London pursuing my graduate studies in law. Growing up I always had a fondness for French culture, and jumped at the opportunity to enrol in the French immersion programme at my school. Speaking French has opened numerous opportunities for me to work, travel, and connect with new and interesting people. The virtues of learning more languages are infinite, not just practically, but fundamentally. Languages offer a new lens through which one can understand the world by exposure to new ways of living and thinking. I look forward to introducing you to the French language!

As the age-old adage goes ‘I took French throughout my secondary education, and yet I can’t speak it!’ Whether you’ve studied some or none, I structure lesson plans according to each student’s needs and goals. Whether you need a forum to practise speaking, a refresher course, or are starting from scratch, I am fully equipped to help you develop your proficiency and prepare for your exams. Having grown up in Canada I had the unique opportunity to undergo formal French and English curricula simultaneously in the national French Immersion programme. I graduated with a Dogwood Diploma certifying my bilingual proficiency, and have since gone on to live and work in French-speaking jurisdictions such as Montréal and Paris. I teach in accordance with the Canadian standard of French-second language education (FSL). I look forward to helping you on your journey to learning French!
