About Polen
Hi! I am Polen, a graduate second-year medical student at UCL who aspires to be an academic clinician. I am taking a year out of medicine to pursue a research Master’s at the University of Oxford.
I am highly interested in tutoring for the following reasons:
1. Contribute to Education: By sharing my knowledge and expertise, I can play a vital role in shaping the next generation of students. It's a fulfilling way to give back to the academic community and make a positive impact on others' lives (as cliche as that sounds). I also take massive gratification in helping others reach their goals.
2. Reinforce Understanding: Teaching reinforces my own understanding of concepts. Explaining concepts to others solidifies my grasp on the material, enhancing my own learning process.
Sharpen Communication Skills: Tutoring hones my ability to communicate medical information effectively to individuals with varying levels of understanding. This skill will prove invaluable in future patient interactions and medical consultations.
