About Ellie
I'm a recent Biomedical Science graduate from the University of Edinburgh with a passion for biology and helping others learn. Throughout my studies, I developed a strong understanding of a wide range of biological sciences and discovered that I really enjoy explaining challenging concepts in a way that is easy to understand.
Outside of academics, I enjoy staying active, reading about new developments in science and healthcare, and continuing to expand my knowledge. I believe every student learns differently, so I aim to create a friendly, supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and building their confidence.

My lessons are tailored to each student's individual needs, whether they are aiming to improve their confidence and strengthen their understanding of difficult topics across both GCSE or A-level Biology and Maths. At the start, I assess each student's current level to identify strengths and areas for improvement before creating a personalised learning plan.
One-hour lessons would combine clear explanations of key concepts with active learning through exam-style questions, knowledge checks, and regular recap sessions to reinforce understanding. I place a strong emphasis on exam technique, helping students interpret questions, structure answers, and apply their knowledge effectively in exam conditions.
I encourage students to ask questions throughout the lesson and adapt my teaching style to suit different learning preferences. Whether we are covering new content, revising for exams, or focusing on specific areas of difficulty, I aim to create a supportive and engaging environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes and learning from them.
Having recently completed my Biomedical Science degree at the University of Edinburgh, I understand the challenges students face and can explain complex biological concepts in a clear, relatable way. My goal is to help students not only improve their grades but also develop confidence and a genuine understanding of the subject.
