About James
I'm a working actor and a graduate of one of London's top drama schools - the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.
Since graduating, I have worked in theatre, film and television both in the UK and abroad and have taught and directed students for almost a decade, regularly taking classes at the Rose Theatre Youth Academy in Kingston, west London as well private lessons.

Hi, my name is James!
I love helping people express themselves which means that teaching is a great fit for me. My approach is relaxed and friendly yet focused.
Trying to communicate when you are not confident about using your voice can be stressful - I know, I've been there. I used to be the shy kid at the back of the class.
I use a gentle encouraging approach, using tools that I have learned at drama school and over ten years of acting, teaching and directing.
The goal is not to make everybody sound the same. Everyone brings something unique to the table. As actors sometimes say, there's only one of you and that's generally what you do best!

I know James from the Rose Theatre when he was teaching my daughter in her first acting classes. I got the impression that he created a very 'safe space' for the children to explore their voice and acting creativity. My daughter's self esteem, confidence and self expression grew quickly.
My daughter says (I'm paraphrasing) that James was very clear and organised on the structure of the lesson but allowed freedom and creativity within the structure.James has originated two projects I have written. A play and a film. He is not only a wonderful and talented actor and collaborator but a deeply inspiring person to be around. I would wholeheartedly recommend him.
