About Zor
I’m someone who loves stories, language, and helping others understand things in a simple, clear way. I come from a background in drama and literature, where analysing texts, characters, and ideas is a big part of what I do. I want to teach because I enjoy seeing things click for people. I like helping students feel more confident, less intimidated, and more comfortable expressing their own thoughts. Teaching, for me, is about making learning feel approachable, supportive, and even enjoyable—not stressful.

I would be a strong English Literature tutor because I combine subject knowledge with clear communication, patience, and an understanding of how different students learn. My background in Drama and Applied Theatre has given me a deep engagement with texts, themes, character, and language, as well as the ability to make literature feel alive and relevant rather than intimidating. English Literature is not just about memorising quotes, but about understanding meaning, context, and interpretation. I am skilled at breaking down complex ideas into simple, accessible explanations and encouraging students to think critically and express their own perspectives. Through my theatre training, I have developed strong analytical skills, close-reading abilities, and confidence in discussing texts in detail. I am also supportive and adaptable as a tutor. I understand that many students struggle with confidence in English, so I focus on creating a safe, encouraging learning environment where questions are welcomed. I can tailor lessons to individual needs, whether that means helping with essay structure, exam preparation, improving written expression, or building confidence in speaking about texts. In addition, my experience working with young people in educational and community settings has strengthened my patience, reliability, and communication skills. I am organised, punctual, and committed to helping students progress at their own pace while still challenging them to improve. Overall, I would be an effective English Literature tutor because I am passionate about language and storytelling, skilled at teaching through discussion and examples, and dedicated to helping students understand texts, improve academically, and enjoy learning.
