Description of Past Course Taught:
“The Performance Text” explodes and explores
concepts of “performance”. In a series of rehearsal-style classes, the class will examine performance from a variety perspectives -- from a theatrical form to social event to a working cultural methodology. At heart, this course borrows from psychological developmental theorist Joseph Chilton Pearce: “Play is the only way the highest intelligence of humankind can unfold”. We will renovate our sense of performances -- of “plays” -- through rigorous play.
Steph also offers teaching on writing and editing.
