About Adrian
Adrian Hsieh (22) is a senior in the Columbia–Juilliard Exchange Program, where he studies cello with Zvi Plesser while majoring in Psychology at Columbia University. Adrian has performed at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall and the Italian Academy, and has appeared as a soloist with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. He has participated in the Bowdoin International Music Festival and the Sarasota Music Festival, and has studied with Richard Aaron, Zlatomir Fung, and Steven Pologe.
In addition to his work as a cellist, Adrian did research at Columbia University for Dr. Herbert Terrace, contributing to research on language development and primate cognition. He has also performed in high school musical theater productions, including roles in West Side Story and Beauty and the Beast, and served as music director for The Spitfire Grill (CSD Theaters, 2019). He previously studied piano with Dr. Alexandre Dossin.
