About Kathryn
I am a New York City and Philadelphia based performer and began my training in Syracuse, NY with Ballet and Dance of Upstate New York under the direction of Kathleen Rathbun where I was able to perform soloist roles with Syracuse City Ballet and Flower City Ballet. I continued my training at Mercyhurst University under the direction of Tauna Hunter. There I appeared in Concerto Barocco under the direction of Nilas Martins of New York City Ballet and in Waldstien Sonata under the direction Daniel Lewis and Nancy Jordan of the José Limon Foundation. While living in Erie, I was able to be a member of the Bayhawk's Dance Team, perform with the Lake Erie Ballet, Somar Dance Works and the Mercyhurst Theatre Department in their production of Guys and Dolls. Since graduation, I moved to the lively neighborhood of Astoria in New York! There I have been able to appear in works by Ryan Daniel Beck as well as a performance of Goldilocks the Musical at the 92nd Street Y. Most recently, I took to the road with Albany Berkshire Ballet's 2019 and 2021 season of their Nutcracker tour where I performed multiple soloist roles. I am committed to the arts and when I'm not performing I love dancing for friends' projects and creating some myself!

Dance is a complicated and personal art form. For this reason, individual attention is critical to success in your training! My classes are a safe, judgement free zone for you to grow as a performer or just to have fun and move your body.
Typically in an hour ballet private we will work half at the barre and half in center work. Our goals together are to foster an environment where your technique can improve with your body's abilities in mind! In an hour jazz/theatre/contemporary private we will do a 20-30 minute warm up with emphasis in conditioning and stretching. Our lessons will end by learning a variety choreography that is created with you in mind. Our goals for these classes will be to put your technique to the test and apply your skills in context with performing a dance piece.
These lessons are for all levels! If you are an absolute beginner we can work from the ground up together. If you are a dancer that is looking for personal attention and specific goals towards performing we can create a space for us to focus on your specific goals to succeeding as a dancer.
