About Bob
My name is Bob and I am very enthusiastic about nurturing young people’s interests in history, the humanities, and culture in general. I was born in a small, rural village in the north east of England and found opportunities to engage with culture quite limited. My interest in history gave me the opportunity to travel beyond the borders of my home town and expand my cultural horizons. During my undergraduate dissertation research into clothing in medieval Italy, I was able to undertake a week-long research trip to Sicily, a beautiful place with a rich heritage that I had always wanted to visit. I am therefore very passionate about sharing some of the joy that I believe learning can bring. I would also be able to offer unique insight and reassurance to those students interested in studying at the University of Cambridge, which I know from experience can seem like a confusing and daunting challenge.

My approach to tutoring is to be a friendly, approachable, and helpful teacher. I aim to make each lesson engaging, fun, and tailored to the interests of the student. Having studied at the University of Cambridge, I have experience of the supervision-style of teaching and will be able to give my students a taste of this conversational and rewarding way of learning.
