About Ian
I’m a professional violinist and have spent my career performing with many of the major orchestras in the UK. I’ve also had the chance to tour extensively with orchestras around the world, including trips to Japan, Korea, Europe, and the US. While I mostly perform with symphony orchestras, I’ve also enjoyed many years playing with Northern Ballet, where I’m a member. Every year, I perform at the BBC Proms and have had the pleasure of collaborating with artists like Paul McCartney and the Spice Girls.

My teaching approach is centred on encouragement, always keeping in mind the core purpose of learning an instrument: enjoyment. I offer lessons of either 30 minutes or an hour, with the longer sessions being suited to more advanced students. I am happy to teach students of all ages and skill levels, both online and in person.
