About Loretta
I am a master degreed girl in languages at the University of Bologna, where I also attended the three-year degree. My two passions are English and German, which I studied in depth thanks to the splendid academic career in Bologna and other courses I have attended privately, with the related final certifications (IELTS and Goethe Institut). During my academic career I also studied for about 5 months at the University of Klagenfurt am Wörthersee in Austria, where I was able to improve my language skills in German, both following an intensive course, and living the Austrian culture directly on site. In addition, I was also able to compare myself with English culture thanks to an internship done in the Bologna international exchange section of the University of California. This experience allowed me to develop different skills, through the carrying out of various tasks: the translation of texts in English, the administrative management of exchanges of American children, the bureaucratic management of the office and above all the assistance to the study of Italian and also of other subjects, both in written and oral production. The study of English and German was not for me a purely technical and linguistic study. They represented and represent for me the key to different cultures from mine: my purpose is primarily to help someone to study languages, but secondly it is also enriching myself through the comparison with new people.

My working methodology is linear: an initial theoretical approach is at the base of the application of knowledge. The direct impact with the exercise could cause confusion and fright and induce student prejudices about the difficulty of the language itself. The theory is therefore an important point to approach a new knowledge and this will always happen with my assistance and willingness to explain -revolution- until the clarification of the concept. However, the working methodology will undoubtedly be modeled according to the needs of the student: flexibility and adaptation are the key words for an approach that is as functional as possible, since I think that the course of study should not be totally tracked by the teacher, but also by the learner, who will present his strengths and difficulties, so that we can proceed together. The support to the study will be based on books that I myself have been able to test in the past during my academic career and with practical exercises of grammar, writing, listening and conversation in the chosen language. Another point in my opinion interesting and important is the phonological aspect, which will be explored with suggestions regarding the correct pronunciation of words and, if the student is interested, also reading the phonetic transcription, so as to have all the tools the as useful as possible to achieve autonomy and mastery of the language.
