About Caprice
I have had many teaching experiences including being a math tutor, piano teacher, and CPR instructor. I try to meet my students where they are, and then help them improve the areas that they struggle with most. As someone who has studied multiple foreign languages, I know that it can be difficult to maintain language skills that you haven't used recently. During high school, I always felt that it was difficult coming back from a break in which I hadn't practiced Spanish at all. I've also been in situations where I have felt that my Spanish skills are subpar. As a result, my goal is to help my students gain confidence in their skills -- especially with speaking -- and help them understand that with practice and patience they can grow their skills to where they would like them to be.

I like to start my lessons by asking my students what they feel they are struggling the most with, and start by focusing on that. I also find it helpful to ask my students what sort of topics they cover in class, so as to help them practice the vocabulary that they need to know to succeed in their class. I like to take a conversationalist approach, and focus on speaking with the student, but also find it helpful to aid the student in reading comprehension, writing, and any schoolwork that they would like help with. I am comfortable tutoring elementary level and above, and am happy to work with beginning and intermediate students, and anyone else who just wants to practice their Spanish.
