About Elaine
I graduated in 2023 from the BA actor musician course at the Guildford School of Acting. The piano is the first instrument I learnt, beginning at the age of 6. Since then I have explored various styles of music, from baroque and classical pieces to modern musical theatre. I have previously taught piano to children aged 5-11 as well as adult beginners, and I have experience teaching academic music to year 2 children as well as working with year 6 children on other subjects. I have had pupils previously take ABRSM grade 1, 3 and 5 exams under my supervision. I also love learning lots of other instruments, including clarinet, flute, saxophone, and accordion!

My lesson structure is more suited to beginners and/or younger learners. I begin by establishing a necessary understanding of written music with the student while understanding each individual's aims and music tastes, which allows me to tailor each lesson to the student's personal goals. I ensure that lessons comprise of sufficient technique work such as scales to help improve the student without compromising the enjoyment of the lesson overall. I hope that this allows students to be truly passionate about music! Due to COVID and my being away at university I am also able to teach online, however I am confident that via Zoom I am able to communicate and observe technique effectively and provide a fun and informative lesson!

We had a great experience with Elaine, my 2 girls loves her.
Her teaching method and approach is A*. Highly recommend her to anyone who really want to learn.Elaine was the pinao teacher of my two boys for about half a year. She is responsible and patient when it comes to teaching, and is able to adapt to students with different level of skills. She usually came to my home for lessons and she was punctual. please note that, as a professional actor, my availability may be limited at times- for example this Christmas I will begin rehearsals for a show around the end of October, and will not be available again until the start of January. My lower prices reflect the limits of my availability, but I will always strive to prioritise my students where possible!
