About Christian
I grew up playing guitar with my dad and older brother and took private lessons for years with a number of amazing instructors.
Then I started a band with my brother and best friend and played shows all over. I decided to learn how to play drums, piano, and bass to really understand the role of each instrument in a band setting, since I was the guitar and vocalist. It helped me become a better songwriter.
In college, I studied Music, Music Theory, and Audio Engineering. Then I started teaching from my home studio in Tulsa, OK, and 3 other studios in my area. I was approached by an online company and started teaching for them and a few others. And then I got hired at a private school in my town to teach guitar. That's when I really started to feel like a real teacher. LOL.
I'm still teaching and writing music. My band is in the process of recording an album. I've literally worked with hundreds of students in the past 15 years. I am qualified. So, if you're looking for a teacher, I'm your guy. I can help you reach your guitar/drum/piano/bass/ukulele/and banjo dreams.
I've had the opportunity to help students get accepted into all-state jazz band which is crazy hard to do. I've even helped students work their way through Berklee School of Music which is very challenging. That was fun.
The thing I love about teaching is I get to share my passion for music and it makes me a better musician and writer because I'm constantly revisiting knowledge and seeing it in new ways and people come to me wanting to learn genres of music that I didn't even know existed like Midwest Emo, djent, and Shoegaze, etc. And that makes me take a deep dive and learn stuff I wouldn't have studied otherwise. In the end, it's all great fun and I feel like I'm just hanging out with my friends.

What sets me apart from others is that music and teaching is my passion and I realize that every student is unique, so I specialize in finding the right approach for each student, whether they're a visual, audible, hands-on learner, slow, etc. I teach all ages and all styles of music. I'm willing to work with anyone who wants to learn, that means beginner to advanced level players. I can get you to the next level.
I usually split each lesson into 3 parts which could look something like this 1. Drills/Exercises/Timing, then 2. Technique/Rhythm/Licks/Progressions/Arpeggios Sequences/Theory/Harmony, then 3. Songs/improvising/composing, etc. We don't just work out of a book like some lazy teachers. And I always provide tabs and sheet music to take home to study.
