About Nina
I have 8 years of experience teaching guitar and hold a B.Mus in Guitar Performance and an M.Mus in Contemporary Music. My experience spans beginner to advanced students, helping learners develop solid technical skills, expressive musicality, and confidence on stage or in personal practice. I emphasize a balance of structured learning and creative exploration, ensuring each student feels supported while challenged appropriately.
I integrate technique, repertoire, improvisation, and performance guidance into every lesson. Students are encouraged to experiment, reflect on musical choices, and express their unique voice. Lessons incorporate structured exercises, popular music examples, and creative projects to maintain engagement and steady progress. I prioritize building confidence, fostering enjoyment, and helping learners develop a personal musical identity.
Beyond teaching, I actively perform, study new musical styles, and engage in composition projects. This involvement allows me to bring contemporary, real-world insights into lessons. Witnessing students develop their skills, express creativity, and perform confidently is immensely rewarding. My teaching approach combines finger exercises, chord development, strumming patterns, solo phrasing, and improvisation with musical interpretation. Students gradually develop technical accuracy, expressive musicality, and confidence in performance through consistent practice and guidance.
Beginners focus on chord shapes, strumming, basic fingerstyle techniques, and simple song performance to build a strong foundation. Intermediate students enhance their repertoire, soloing skills, music theory application, and improvisational creativity. Advanced learners refine tone shaping, advanced fingerstyle, phrasing, and performance skills, preparing for concerts, auditions, or composition projects. Each lesson is tailored to individual goals, encouraging self-expression while maintaining structured learning.
Guitar lessons cultivate not only musical skill but also discipline, focus, and creativity. Students gain confidence in their abilities, learn to express emotion through music, and develop problem-solving skills when approaching complex pieces.
