About Ivy
I have more than 9 years of experience teaching Guitar to college students, and I focus on making lessons fun, motivating, and productive. My teaching style combines hands-on learning, creativity, and personalised guidance, helping students build both skill and confidence.
I use exercises, play-along tracks, recording tools, and improvisation challenges to make lessons interactive. Music theory is explained in a simple way, so students can apply it directly to their playing. I encourage creativity, helping students explore different genres and develop their own musical style.
Over the past 9 years, I’ve helped students learn complex songs, perform confidently, and even compose original music. My goal is to create a positive, inspiring learning environment where every student can succeed and enjoy playing Guitar.

I teach guitar with a focus on creativity, critical thinking, mentorship, and accountability. My lessons encourage students to discover their own style, experiment with chords and melodies, and even create original music. I believe learning music should be exciting, meaningful, and full of personal expression.
Mentorship is central to my teaching. I guide students with patience, provide constructive feedback, and help them gain confidence and independence. Critical thinking is integrated into every lesson by teaching students to analyse songs, apply theory practically, and solve challenges creatively.
Accountability ensures progress. Together, we set achievable goals, track improvements, and celebrate milestones. Lessons are interactive, combining exercises, practice, and creative tasks to maintain motivation.
Along with guitar, I teach music theory, improvisation, and composition. My approach develops students into confident, creative, and independent musicians who enjoy learning and performing music at every stage of their journey.
