About Max

My name is Max Rodriguez and I have been an active studying, working, performing and recording musician for over 10 years. I have studied at The Institute Of Contempary and Modern Music where I obtained my Diploma and have since been working solidly on my craft through multiple music projects ranging from genres of Rock, Ska, Reggae, Pop, Punk, Funk, Afrobeat, Latin, Electronic and Hip Hop. I have been an active giging and recording musician since the age of 13 and have had numerous successful shows & festivals in and out of London.

I have experience as a teaching assistant at Power Jam in Mortlake teaching children aged 11-15. Power Jam is a full live band music workshop for kids. Teaching instruments to all students with the prospects of performing gigs at multiple venues across the South West London area.
I am currently studying at a Music Leader Training Program lead by CM Sounds in Whitechapel. After completion of my course, I will be fully trained as a community music teacher and will have gained a City & Guilds EaT qualification. Through this course I have been learning vital workshop leading skills, studying teaching & learning theory, and have been training with many other musicians, teachers, and other working professionals to achieve my prime goals to be a music teacher.
I am also currently the leader of the afro-latin orchestra called Animanz where I write, perform, and manage the band. This entails serious organizational skills and dedication to which I have maintained and upheld throughout the last three years to much success and leading now to the release of our 1st debut album which is picking up label and media attention.
I have done numerous session work in and out of London in multiple function projects playing weddings, birthdays, book launches, corporate events and private parties. Through this I have been expected to play music and learn material to a high standard whilst having the ability to improvise on the night and learn music and understand corrections last minute.
My aim is to start you on your journey of music in the most relaxed, easy going and fun way possible! I am extremely passionate and professional about what I do, and I wish to pass on this knowledge to you!

I would definitely recommend Max to anyone keen to learn the guitar.
Max makes lessons fun for both my children. He incorporates vital techniques like scales, finger works, intervals, importance of sound produced into the pieces that’s taught. Repertoires that’s introduced are varied from Jungle Book, Hot Chilli Peppers to Kaiser Chief. Most important for us is the building up of skill of improvisation.
Max is very patient, always on time and is very nice.
