About Dorian
Hi, I’m a guitar tutor with 9 years of teaching experience and a Bachelor of Music Education with a focus on guitar. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with students of all abilities, including those who are visually impaired and differently abled. I believe music should be accessible to everyone, and I shape my lessons with that in mind. My teaching includes tactile notation, audio cue training, and exercises that support strong rhythmic development. These methods help students build confidence and independence in their playing. I work closely with each student to find what suits their learning style best. Patience, encouragement, and adaptability are at the heart of every session. Along with core techniques, I also help students explore creativity, musical expression, and even songwriting. I love seeing learners grow not just in skill, but in self-belief. My goal is to make guitar feel possible, joyful, and empowering. I’m passionate about breaking down barriers in music education. No matter your background, learning needs, or experience level, you’re welcome in my lessons. Everyone deserves the chance to make music and I’m here to support you every step of the way.

My guitar teaching approach is practical, creative, and tailored to each student’s goals. I help players build a strong foundation in technique while also exploring their personal style. Lessons include ear hand coordination, alternate tunings, and rhythm work to improve both skill and musical awareness.
I enjoy helping students who want to deepen their understanding of classical methods or bring more feeling into their playing for performance or worship. For those interested in writing their own songs, I guide them through basic songwriting techniques and how to express ideas through chords and melody. We also explore how to use digital effects for tone shaping and atmosphere.
I believe in learning through playing, so each lesson includes hands on practice with clear goals. My sessions are supportive and structured, with room for creativity and growth. I adapt to different learning speeds and always keep the focus on progress, not pressure. Whether you're working on a Bach piece or preparing for live performance, I’m here to help you sound like your best self.
