About Elena

I’m a guitar tutor with 4 years of experience and a Bachelor of Music in World Music, specializing in Guitar Traditions. My academic background gave me a wide view of global guitar styles, but my heart beats fastest for metal, shred, and progressive rock. I love helping students push their limits and develop serious technical skill. Whether you're just starting or already deep into your guitar journey, I’ll guide you with clarity and precision. My lessons focus on building speed, accuracy, and control through targeted exercises and proven practice methods. We work on alternate picking, sweep picking, legato runs, and tapping techniques—all broken down in a way that’s easy to follow. I also emphasize proper hand positioning and economy of motion to avoid injury and boost long-term growth. My approach blends discipline with creativity so students never feel stuck or bored. I enjoy working with both young learners eager to shred and adult students rediscovering their musical fire. Everyone learns at a different pace, and I tailor lessons to match your goals and learning style. I also incorporate theory and fretboard knowledge to support soloing and composition. If you’re ready to unlock speed, precision, and expression, let’s get started. Your next breakthrough is just a riff away.

My guitar teaching approach is built on versatility and curiosity. I guide students through genre exploration, helping them understand how different musical styles like funk, metal, country, and jazz each shape technique and expression. We break down what makes each genre unique—its rhythms, phrasing, and tone—and learn how to adapt your playing accordingly. This way, you develop a broad musical understanding and the skills to shift between styles with ease.

I’m especially skilled at working with The Teenage Rebel and The Recording Artist—those eager to express themselves and push their creative boundaries. We focus on tone shaping, stylistic nuance, and creative improvisation across genres. You’ll learn how to blend techniques and create your own sound. Lessons include listening exercises, playing along with tracks, and building a strong sense of groove.

Whether you're aiming to jam, record, or perform, we tailor each session to help you grow. My goal is to open musical doors and keep things fresh and inspiring. You'll not only become a better guitarist but also a more adaptable and thoughtful musician. Together, we’ll explore endless musical possibilities and turn your interests into powerful, playable skills.
