About Daisy
I am a positive individual with the aim of inspiring young people, building their self confidence and encouraging aspirations.
Working in a school full time for over a year now, I have experience in adapting work for individual child needs, taking care to take it at their own pace.
I have also completed youth mentoring in which I worked on setting targets to develop social and emotional skills. As a result, I know to look at the full picture when working with children.
Additionally, I graduated from Lancaster University in 2020 with a geography degree so my geography knowledge is top notch!

:) I have spent over a year working full time in a primary school, focusing on year 6. Within this work, I have led daily afterschool tutoring sessions in maths and reading comprehension.
:) Happy to do tutoring with any primary aged pupil in any subject.
:) My experience will also allow me to do maths up to year 9.
:) Also do tutoring in geography up to year 9.
:) All about building confidence and self esteem as these are vital to academic understanding and independent work.
:) Every child is different so I go at their pace, following their needs and weaknesses. Use their strengths to increase enjoyment and build a base.
:) Length of lesson depends on the particular child, as some can focus more than others.
:) I will make sessions fun by introducing educational games and activities.
:) Lessons will be outside of school hours.
:) Happy to do both 1:1 tutoring as well as small groups, if the children have the same needs.

Daisy and I volunteered for City Year in a year 6 class in a primary school. Part of our volunteering was after-school tutoring for Maths and English Comprehension. Daisy is an excellent tutor. I have seen her tutor children one-to-one and in groups of up to 4 to 5 children. She is able to keep up with the varying ability levels of different children within a group, and is able to help them gain a firmer understanding of the topic they're working on.
