About Sara
Sara Lavalley is a 30 year old dance artist who lives in Brooklyn, NY. Originally from California, Sara started her training in Hip Hop in high school, then Modern, Ballet, and Jazz in college. She was awarded her BFA in Dance at San Jose State University and her MFA in Dance at Mills College, where she taught and performed for both. While in school, Sara has been in professional dance companies such as, Megill And Company and De-Cipher Dance Company as well as teaching for dance studios and two high schools. She has also had the privilege of being a company member for Aleño Dance Project and had her MFA thesis piece shown for the UN’s 16 Days of Activism. Sara is currently teaching dance in school and is a proud company member of Gotham Dance Theater. She hopes to continue to teach and perform for many years to come!
