About Wade
I was Born and raised in Barraba NSW but moved at 23 years old to Tokyo. I retired from teaching English professionally after 15 years to concentrate on raising my own children as bilingual speakers of English and Japanese while I started my own home based Japanese hobby goods export business alongside freelance translation. Over the years I have enjoyed getting English speaking friends up to speed on their Japanese and have decided to undertake this on a larger basis going forward.
My hobbies in Tokyo are martial arts, high rise balcony gardening and ongoing Japanese study, as well as recently starting 3D digital sculpting for the purposes of 3D printing. Though I have interest in a wide range of topics and always open to learning something new.

Having studied Japanese since before I moved to Japan I have a deep insight into the challenges an Australian faces learning Japanese and using Japanese in real life in Japan itself, as well as the mindset, culture and communication patterns used by Japanese people.
The basic approach to lessons would be identifying situations or topics the student need to become proficient in and then learning the grammar and simplest grammar for needed to be understood. From there we break these down into bite sized pieces on paper and practice until finally a short conversational interaction can be mastered.
I have used this basic technique to teach English to Japanese students for 25 years in more teaching positions than I can count and have sharpened them to a high level of precision.
My focus is on adults and lessons would need to be at least one hour to give enough time for the process.
I am looking forward to putting my quarter of a century in Japan to good use working with fellow Australians to help them gain proficiency in everyday Japanese language usage.
