About Cheryl
I am a mother of two teenage daughters who have left home to enjoy their own, independent academic journey at University.
I have enjoyed a varied teaching career in the UK, New Zealand and Egypt. I have taught the following Biology curricula: IB DP, IB MYP, A level, NCEA, GCSE Biology.
I love travelling, have a good sense of humour and an adventurous spirit!

Rooted in an ethos of constructivism, my teaching approach involves students building their understanding through dialogue, engaging with texts and taking on board feedback (using Ron Berger's growth mindset approach).
I have a BSc (Hons) in Anatomy and cell biology and a PhD in Biology as well as an MEd in Psychology and Education from the University of Cambridge. My dissertation involved the role of metacognition in the teaching of Science.
Lessons would be approximately 40-50 minutes.
