About Elena
My name is Elena, I am a Visual Artist from Mexico, living in Barcelona where I completed a Master's Degree in Artistic Production and Research at the University of Barcelona. I have 8 years of experience painting and drawing professionally and 5 years dedicated to teaching art within institutions and museums.
I consider myself a cheerful person, very patient and empathic. I really enjoy teaching and sharing the learning that my profession has given me.

Draw class.
Materials:
- 4H, HB, B and 2B graduation pencils.
- Charcoal.
- Eraser.
- Iron pencil sharpener.
General methodology:
1. Introduction to nuances: We will use exercises to adjust the intensity of our stroke.
2. Light and shadow: we will use exercises to identify and draw 3D figures with light and shadow.
3. Proportion and perspective: We will use practical exercises to draw the proper proportion and perspective of different figures.
3. Composition and practice: We will put together a composition of objects that we like and we will draw them from different angles applying the knowledge of hue, light and shadow, proportion and perspective that we have practiced in previous sessions.
4. Human Figure: We will use basic proportional measurement exercises to start drawing the human figure.
5. Photographic drawings: We will take a photo or choose an image that conveys an emotion that we would like to represent and we will apply all the previous technical learning.

Oil painting class.
Materials:
- Oil paintings. Indispensable colors: titanium white, cadmium red, cadmium yellow, cobalt blue and ivory black. Other colours: ultramarine blue, yellow ochre, natural sienna, natural umber.
- Palette to place the paint
- Flat brush
- Cat tongue brush
- Round brush
- Eyeliner brush
*Brushes have to be synthetic or specialized for oil painting*.
- Spatula
- Linseed oil
- Turpentine
General methodology:
1. Color theory: We will learn to paint and distinguish primary colors from secondary ones, and we will distinguish the difference between tones and shades.
2. Light and shadow: we will use exercises to identify and paint 3D figures with light and shadow.
3. Proportion and perspective: We will use practical exercises to paint the proper proportion and perspective of different figures.
4. Artistic movements: We will talk about the different painting techniques used in the history of art.
4. Composition and practice: We will put together a composition of objects that we like and we will paint them from different angles applying the knowledge that we have practiced in the previous sessions.
5. Final painting exercise: We will take a photo or choose an image that conveys an emotion that we would like to represent and we will apply all the previous technical learning to paint it.
