About David
-I studied foreign languages at Valle University in Colombia.
-I took a TESOL course that prepared me to teach English to speakers of other languages but also helped me with my French and Spanish teaching skills.
-I have worked for internationally recognized institutions that offer lessons both on-site and online as well as for well-known bilingual high schools in my hometown.
-I do what I do because I love languages and because I love teaching.

Students who want to take a lesson with me are either curious about the culture and the language or in serious need of communicating better with others in Spanish. That's why in my lessons you will be doing most of the talking and I won't be explaining any grammar explicitly (unless you ask me to -- customer is king). I have demonstrated how time spent talking using certain vocabulary and structures is better invested than time spent listening to an explanation you could get for free on a blog or streaming platform.
I make sure that my students feel at ease and ready to make mistakes. I do like to correct a lot but my students don't mind and enjoy it because they quickly understand this is part of the learning journey and don't feel embarrassed any more thanks to the safe environment I like to create.
I adapt well to all levels and ages. I like to gamify my lessons with the youngest ones and challenge the bigger ones with more serious topics. I speak slowly and translate a lot to those who are just starting while advanced students feel there is always something new to learn when I keep pushing their limits.
