About Cerys
Hi, I’m Cerys — a qualified health psychology lecturer, behaviour change specialist, and coach with a deep passion for helping others understand how psychology applies to real life.
I’ve recently completed my Doctorate in Health Psychology (passed with corrections), following an MSc in Health Psychology and a BSc in Psychology. Over the past 10 years, I’ve built a unique blend of academic, applied, and teaching experience across education, public health, and behaviour coaching.
I’ve lectured at several UK universities and delivered specialist workshops to students, professionals, and fitness practitioners, covering topics such as:
Health behaviour change and intervention design
Psychology of exercise and wellbeing
Women’s health and resilience
Research methods and academic writing
Applied psychology in society and practice
My doctoral research explored the psychological education needs of fitness professionals and highlighted the boundaries between coaching and mental health support—topics I continue to explore in my work.
Whether you’re preparing for exams, struggling with theory, or looking to improve your assignments or academic writing, I can support you. I specialise in simplifying complex ideas, tailoring content to your learning style, and helping you build confidence and independence as a learner.
Lessons are supportive, structured, and interactive — and I’m happy to help with anything from revision to dissertation planning. I also offer mentoring for students entering the fields of health psychology, coaching, or related professions.

Each lesson is designed to be personalised, practical, and student-led — whether you’re looking to deepen your understanding of psychological theory, prepare for exams, or get support with coursework or research.
I offer tutoring across A-Level, undergraduate, and postgraduate levels, including:
Understanding key psychological concepts
Health psychology, behaviour change, and applied topics
Research methods (qualitative and quantitative) with experience in SPSS and NVivio
Academic writing, critical thinking, and referencing
Dissertation/project planning, feedback and support
Before your first session, I’ll ask about your goals, current challenges, and preferred learning style. From there, we’ll create a tailored plan that suits your pace and priorities. You’ll leave each lesson with clear takeaways, study strategies, and the confidence to apply what you’ve learned.
Lessons can include:
Visual explanations and discussion
Assignment walkthroughs and planning
Live writing practice and feedback
Interactive exercises or revision strategies
Support between sessions (for regular students)
Sessions are available online or in-person (South Wales), and I welcome students from all backgrounds and abilities — including those returning to study or facing academic anxiety.
