About Matthieu
Graduated in 2019 from the HEC Grande Ecole program after having obtained my scientific baccalaureate in 2013 with a first and followed two years of preparatory classes for grandes écoles in ECS (Economics and commerce, science), I am currently studying a second masters in quantitative and financial economics as part of a double degree taught by the Ecole Polytechnique and ENSAE. I have been giving lessons for many years to students ranging from high school to the second year of preparatory class (bachelor level). I will also be able to provide more summary assistance in other subjects, in particular relating to learning and working methods. My assistance can include preparation of work and exercises to prepare at home or be during exam revisions and preparation for the competitive exams of the major business schools in France.

Above all, I will do my best to listen to the student's needs and allow him to progress quickly and confidently. According to the needs of the pupil, the first objective could be to acquire the methods of mathematical reasoning and rigour, which are essential to success in mathematics in high school and in preparatory classes; I can steer the student towards mastering the course and theorem demonstrations if helpful. For others, the main objective will be to put mathematical reasoning into practice through key thought-provoking exercises intended to push the student as far as possible and best prepare him for any competitive exam. If the student wishes to go deeper on a particular topic, I will invite him to specify it in advance so that I can prepare a clear, precise and exhaustive presentation of the main issues at stake, with key relevant exercises.

Matthieu a toujours associé ses prédispositions pour les mathématiques avec une grande pédagogie, et cela fait de lui un professeur remarquable !
L'aide de Matthieu a été essentielle lorsque je suis arrivée à HEC après un cursus littéraire pour m'aider à rattraper mon retard dans les matières mathématiques : finance, micro-économie, statistiques. Sans lui je n'aurais pas réussi mes partiels aussi bien ! Sérieux, à l'écoute et très sympa, je recommande :)
En prépa ECS je n'étais pas mauvais en maths mais je sentais que j'avais besoin d'accompagnement pour aller plus loin notamment pour intégrer HEC, ce que j'ai réussi à faire en partie grâce à Matthieu! Aujourd'hui je le recommande mille fois pour les élèves qui veulent un professeur capable d'instaurer une rigueur mathématique dans la construction de leur raisonnement.
Matthieu m'a aidé à progresser en mathématiques durant ma classe préparatoire, en particulier en Probabilités et Algèbre linéaire. En plus de son talent pour les mathématiques, je le recommende pour sa patience et ses qualités pédagogiques.

Details
I am flexible on schedules and have availability throughout the week. I insist on the importance of doing lessons in blocks of at least 2 hours, as it is for me the minimal time needed to understand a mathematical concept and work on it well. I prefer to teach the course at my home but of course I remain open to other proposals depending on the distances and availability of each.
