About Aria
Hello, my name is Aria. I'm from Tokyo and majored in Liberal Arts at International Christian University (ICU), where I earned a Master of Education degree in July 2026. I also obtained my International Baccalaureate (IB) teaching qualification. Currently, I teach English while also providing private tutoring in both Japanese and English. Combining theoretical knowledge and practical experience in education, I offer lessons tailored to each individual's goals and pace, from beginners to advanced learners. My lessons balance conversation practice, grammar instruction, and role-playing, and utilize original materials to facilitate smooth review after each lesson. English support is also available as needed, so even those who are not confident in their Japanese can participate with ease. I will responsibly support you until you can speak confidently without fear of making mistakes. Let's take the first step in learning together with a trial lesson. I look forward to meeting you.

Teaching Methods and Techniques: - Conversation-centered approach: Emphasis is placed not only on grammar, but also on repeatedly practicing expressions that can actually be used. - Individualized curriculum: The content of each lesson is adjusted according to the student's goals (travel, business, everyday conversation, JLPT preparation, etc.). - Role-playing and simulation: Practice is incorporated that simulates real-life situations such as shopping, restaurants, and interviews. - Timing of error correction: To avoid interrupting the flow of conversation, mistakes are noted and feedback is given all at once in the latter half of the lesson. - Original materials: Instead of relying solely on commercially available materials, materials are created to suit the student's level and interests, and can be used for review after the lesson. Typical Lesson Plan (60 minutes) 1. Warm-up (5-10 minutes): Simple conversation reviewing the previous lesson. 2. Introduction to New Content (15-20 minutes): Explanation of grammar, vocabulary, and expressions (supplemented in English as needed). 3. Practice (20 minutes): Role-playing, drills, listening, etc., depending on the content. 4. Feedback & Summary (10 minutes): Review of the day and setting homework and assignments for the next lesson. My Strengths - Bilingual Instruction: Having experience teaching both Japanese and English, I have a precise understanding of the points where English speakers often stumble when learning Japanese. - Educational Background: I am studying for a Master of Education (expected) at ICU Graduate School, enabling me to design lessons based on learning theory. - International Baccalaureate (IB) Qualification: I incorporate inquiry-based learning methods, striving for lessons that encourage "learning while thinking" rather than mere memorization. - Support in English: Even if explanations in Japanese are difficult, I can provide careful support in English, so even beginners can feel at ease. Lesson Target - Level: Suitable for complete beginners to advanced learners - Age Range: Welcoming a wide range of ages, primarily working adults and university students - Purpose-Specific Lessons: Daily conversation, business Japanese, JLPT preparation, travel/immigration preparation, etc. - Consideration for Individual Characteristics: Since everyone has a different learning pace and strengths and weaknesses, we flexibly adjust the approach to suit each individual.
