About Katie
I’m Katie I’m a student at Southampton and I tutored gcse maths and the three sciences all throughout sixth form. I’m in the second year of my degree and I’m very used to doing exams now so I know how stressful things can become! I will be able to help you to understand your courses but also to develop effective exam strategies.

If there are topics that you have gone over in class and do not understand then we can revisit those topics and do some practice questions together. I can find different ways to explain things that might make them click! I also think going through past papers along with a mark scheme is the best way to do well in exams. So I would run through past papers and identify problem areas that we can go over separately with questions from the textbooks along with making sure you develop an understanding of how to achieve all of the marks in each type of question. This also means picking up most of the marks in questions you can’t fully calculate and ensuring that one little error doesn’t cost you more than a mark. Practice makes perfect and you have to play the game of the examiner to get the marks! Exam technique is very important!
