Mauricio has a gift for waiting. Many tutors can seem as though they are in a hurry for you to finish your thought or sentence and can tend to interrupt to "help you out", but Mauricio always allows me the time I need to think through what I'm trying to say. This is so helpful for me as a learner. If I do find myself in a situation where I do not know how to express an idea in Spanish, Mauricio's English ability comes in super handy. He is able to help me translate what I want to say into Spanish so that I am able to clearly communicate my ideas.
Last but not least, Mauricio is an excellent conversationalist. He does not leave you hanging, trying to come up with things to talk about. He is able to lead the conversation so that you as a student can focus on learning the language without worrying about those moments of awkward silence.
