About Samantha
As an individual with ADHD and anxiety, I struggled when I was younger to focus, grasp concepts, perform well on tests and even ask questions when I needed help. It was hard to find people who understood my struggles. Many teachers had a rhythmic way of teaching, very logical, straight to the point; a tedious and boring way of teaching.
Using my creative skills and imaginative thinking, I came up with real-life examples and analogies that helped me understand each concept more. I began to care less about my grades and comparing myself to others and instead, track my own growth in comparison to myself. Learning is supposed to be fun. It's supposed to be hard. It's supposed to help you grow as an individual. You will only get better with time and practice and once you start to love learning, everything gets a whole lot easier.
I aim to be the person who I wish could've taught me when I was younger. Now, I am on the path to success, a top student at an IB high school. I do not need my perfect GPA to tell me that I have grown as a student and a teacher.
