About Nicholas
Hello, my name is Nicholas Nguyen, and I am a senior currently attending Oxford Academy! I have 4 years of experience working with students in elementary and middle school, and am comfortable with math concepts up to those taught in Calculus II. I believe that critical thinking and problem solving are skills to be honed, not something you're born with, and I'm always happy to help build those skills. As a tutor, I strive to show all my students that math is a subject of beauty, not a chore. No matter what kind of learner a student may be, I am very adaptable and willing to adjust my teaching style to fit students' needs best!

My training method involves demonstrations of me working through some problems while describing my thought process, followed by having the student work through problems while describing their thought process to me. I believe in having the student do as much as they can to solve the problem, so I will refrain from giving answers unless they are truly stuck. I am able to quickly come up with example problems targeting student's weaknesses, so running out of practice problems will not be a problem for me. My lessons are geared towards anyone wishing to learn math concepts up to those taught in Calculus II, regardless of age.
