About John
I am a vastly experienced teacher of both the English language, and cross-cultural aspects of the communication experience. I lived in St Petersburg for many years, and I am a fluent speaker of Russian. I know first-hand about both the difficulties and the rewards of living and working in another country, and love passing on my experience and knowledge to my students.

Spoken communication will be the key aspect of our classes, but I'm happy to tailor them to your needs. Whether that's brushing up on your conversation skills before going travelling, or preparing for a key business meeting, presentation or conference, I will find a way to meet your needs, and at the same time ensure fun and stimulating classes. As someone who has learnt another language myself and done business in it, I am well aware of the challenges that face English learners in the modern world.
I find that 60 minute classes work best online, although longer sessions are also available.
I have a degree in English Literature from the University of Sheffield (Top 50 in the world), as well as being a certified TEFL teacher. However, I think that no qualification in the world is any substitute for experience, which is somthing I have in abundance.
I specialise in teaching professional adults, although teens and university students are also considered.
